If I was to install of these would just be a matter of pluging in the loom or is there wiring TO be done?
If it's just a matter of plugging in the loom, where does it plug in?

Thanks.

Depends if you have the whole loom.

The whole loom includes the rear light, auto selector light and econ button switch.

If it's complete, then it's just a matter of removing the old and plugging it in.

It connects under the stereo on the drivers side, it's kinda attached so is a pain to get to.

so if the loom is whole and by whole you mean plugs on both ends then no soldering or wire work is needed?

lucky you have an EF/EL as the EA-ED series dont have the bolt holder section in the car already, its a seperate unit which has to be screwed in. i think i have one or 2 spare consoles here with them in them, ill take some pics

EL2XR8 ..
ive had the bits for ages .came from a wrecked fairmont /fairlane ..
once you have everthing pulled off ..
like data-mine said the loom you have there now ,,is attached
by a pin under the ashtray area to the right .against the side .
you have too take the shifter off, & using a flat screw driver prise the souround off around the shifer.then theres just a few screws ..(3)
then unplug the econ switch & shifter bolb ..
then follow that wire ,just fiddle around , ,find the end & pull it out carefully ..
take out the 2 screws in the inside of the console under the material there
& 2 screws on the side .
i pulled the drink holder bit out to get to the other wire that needs unpluging/& pluging back in ..(blk)
if you have the full loom just plug it in where you took old one from .
run the loom through the console to the back ,plug in your econ switch & shifter bolb.(be carefull not to squash the wires under anything..)
plug the single wire in then the plug the rear bolb in ..tuk em up ..
wak it back together ..
if you havent got the full loom ,,ask around a few wreckers ..
hope this helps ..
