My air con in my car s**t its self last night so i went to my mechanic and found a leak in the pully of the compressor. i got him to quote a new compressor, drier labour gas and all the rest , basically as complete fix for $742.
Does this price seem ok?

I would have expected the compressor alone to cost more than that!! Maybe that's just for the 8s...

Any idea what that compressor is worth alone?

Sounds about right!

You can always try the wreckers.

I'd go the newer compressor and not one from a wrecker because you don't know the condition of the wrecker's compressor. And yes, that price sounds about right - they're expensive little bastards.
