Hey, I keep getting this code on my EF (but I have a full EL loom) and I have a passenger airbag too. I have shorted the airbag memory clear pin to ground, and removed it when the airbag light goes out, as mentioned in the tech doco to get the codes out of it, however as soon as I remove the short, I get 3 beeps before the code is displayed, when I try the code clearing procedure, nothing happens (it just keeps flashing the code). Is this normal? What could be shorted to ground and giving that code? where do I start looking? I tried 2 different front bar crash sensors and 3 different drivers airbags. I dont have a spare passenger airbag to test with eithier. What's next? could the airbag module itself be faulty? I cant see any broken wires near any of the components that are shorted to ground.

Cheers, Gab

Can someone please help me with this? kinda scary driving around not knowing if your airbag is gonna go off randomly or not at all. I think maybe the reason I cant clear the codes is it's one of these "late ELs" that need to go to Ford to be reset, is this plausible?
