so ive got the dreaded code 32 that so many others get when they do the dash out job...
jobs like this s**t me... traded one problem for anther....now I dont have a f**k heater core but a s**t annoying airbag light instead....and now i need to pay for aircon gas that will probably leak away beacuse I had to disconnect the A/C line...whine whine I know!! reckon its possible the module shat itself or have i likely left off a plug?? I didnt disconnect the battery at all during the job because i was lazy...could have that f**k it?? does code 32 mean that the open circuit is between the module and the airbag? or possibly something else

next question...where is and what does the PAB 2 ohm resistor look like....
is it on the yellow lead near the glovebox or is it the tiny sqaure grey plug thing?

On certain connectors when they're unplugged, a link will short the pins - have a look at the connector on the drivers airbag - a bit of static electricity on fingers mightn't be good for it.gogetta wrote: main airbag is connected.... ah snap ive read a few of your other posts and u seem to be THE MAN on this issue..
i see the shorting clip is there to protect against accidental deployment...cool to know Q. i have shorted the driver airbag plug and also pAB plug (one at a time not at the same time) in order to try and get code 34 but its still showing 32 no matter what i tried... either there is on open circuit somewhere else in the wiring or its looking like buggered module... is that the right way to test?

Disconnect the lower steer column plug and short the plug out and see if the code changes.

starting to seriously consider that it may be the module...
in preparation how many different modules did ford produce.. im guessing 1. all EF had the same 2. EF2 has same as EF1 but also a different one for dual airbag 3. EL different to EF2 just because they like to change things, also codes cant be reset on late EL so that would indicate updated hardware so i guess im looking for a non PAB module from an EF1 or EF2...can u confirm

There were a couple of variants, but all EF/EL airbag modules support a drivers and passengers airbag.

I'd unplug and replug the module.

Hey mate, u had the exact same thing happen to me (code 32) when i took the dash out.
I thought stuff ya, ill take the bulb out. But them it beeps, so i went one better and put a little bit of black tape over where the light shines through. Fixed the beeps, fixed the flashing light. So next time i take the dash out, everything is going to be triple checked!!!!!
