Hi,
I have an AU Series II year 2000 car with an Airconditioner that is problematic. I don't know if it's low on gas or what needs to be replaced etc. I brought the car as is so don't know the full history of it. I was driving on a hot day from Greenslopes hospital . outside temp was about 33 degrees C. I had the aircon on coldest setting and fan speed on 4. I had very little cold air coming out, volume of airflow was not flash and have a horrible noise coming from the fan. On another day the temp outside was 28 degrees C, aircon on cioldest setting and did get cold air...fan noise still evidenty but sort of goes quiet on speed 2. Set on speeds of 3 and 4 and she makes a terrible noise.I dont know why this is so. Took the car to Red Devil Radiators for a top up, After 15 minutes bloke comes back saying temperature in car is 6 degress celcius . After telling him the problem, he reckons could be crap and dust blocking the filter making the fan work harder and reducing the volume of airflow. Could be TX valve or something else...He reckons to make the unit work more efficient, I would need to have the unit stripped and cleaned, serviced and regas,,,all up 4 hours to dismantle and 4 hours to reassemble...and probably about $900.00 repair bill. Being on a pension makes this cost impossible for me to bear. Would anyone know what the problem could be and is there a cheaper way of getting this fixed? Will it really takes this amount of time or is the wool being put over my eyes? |

Hmm, might do just that.
Can you tell me what brand name or dimension? The compressor on the car takes R134a gas I think Cheers |
