I find the commodore triangle/square pattern looks ok. You could retrim them with that.
You may also like to go with something different like leather or some nice colour. What ever tickles your pickle.

hey mate,
yes they basically bolt straight in. Coz i used fairmont trims (they have bigger handles on the door trim compared to gli etc) i had to use a self tapping screw on the back doors to secure the handle to the door. But otherwise they bolt straight in. You will need to change the elec mirror dial thingy. I just matched up the wires from my old trims - not too difficult to do - trial and error sometimes. And you will just need a couple of little plastic bits etc to make it look nicer (like the little panel above where the mirror swtich is - on both sides - you'll see once you do it). Cost you $5 max from wrecker for the plastic bits. The only other thing is you need to bend the wire that operates the door latch as it is a little different in an ef/el compared to ea-ed. Not hard to do though. Personally I think it was well worth the conversion as it looks s**t loads better than any ea-ed door trims.

But personally I like the ef/el style as they give the car a newer feel. Each to their own i suppose

here is a pic of how the passenger side lines up (pretty much perfectly)
i dont have one of the drivers. it doesnt line up perfect like the passenger - however you cant see the difference as the instrument cluster area blocks the area that doesnt line up. still looks good tho.

couls someone shead some light on door trims. i own an ef xr6 and wanted to use vinyls on the door trims. i took the door handle (what you use to open the door) out to have a look if i could get the door carpet out. would i need to take off the entire interior door or can i put the vinyls on by just taking the door handle off. thanks

someone correct me if im wrong. but i think if you take the whole trim off. the carpet bit is like stapled in from the back. so it would be easier to do it that way (and you'll need to take the door trim off to re-staple the carpet bit back in).

you mean you want to replace the fabric insert on the doors with vinyl? if so, thats really easy to do. yes, you will have to remove the whole door trim, shouldnt take any more than a few mins. once its off, you'll see the fabric insert is held in by what appears to be giant staples. bend the tabs back, and the insert will come out easily. just a matter of pulling off the fabric and cutting another to size in vinyl
