Guys,
Today my AU II SR forgot how to recognise my key fob. I tried to re-train but the car doesn't want to enter learning mode. Am I doing something wrong? or is my Body Control Module (BCM) naffed? On the topic of the BCM, does anybody know if I can remove the poverty pack BCM and replace it with the Premium unit? I ask because I would like to (In the long run) put the rear electric windows in, and put in the proper trip computer (currently using the Instrument Panel Diag mode) Thanks in advance for your help

All doors locked when you start?

Yep, tried that, tried unlocked too. The door locks wouldn't even cycle after I pressed the rear demister button (3 times in 5 secs after turning ign to on)

Yep! And I know I've done it in the past with the doors open too.
- Battery is known good - Key fob is in less than fantastic condition, but theoretically, shouldn't affect the BCM going into Learn Mode. I'm thinking that I may try disconnecting the battery for a while to allow the BCM to reset, then try again. (if somebody could link me to the ECU Retraining procedures that'd be appreciated too)

Youc ant just swap a BCM in au2 as they have smartshield - All the units talk to eachother - If you swap BCM's your car needs to be taken to ford and pluggedinto there computer to teach the new smartshield system before it will start.
I believe you need both keys to go into learning mode. Consult your owners manual it is in there

Consulted the Owners Manual. According to that I'm following the procedure correctly. I only need one of the programmed keys to enter learning mode (unless I've forgotten how to read) I will try that when I get home (where the spare key is) but it would seem odd to not have learning mode available without both keys, in the event you lose one and want to decode it from car. (yes, I know that key coding and key fob coding are different processes)
