please help
my au 2 wagon has developed a strange electrical fault with the lights switched off i i put my foot on the brake pedal my brake lights plus instument cluster lights gear change lights and my frt parker lights illuminate if i do it with the headlights switched onto park or headlights my brake lights stay fully illuminated making it impossible to tell if im braking or not any ideas ?

Check for something simple, like a stop/tail bulb filament failing and arcing from brake to tail, also if you have a trailer plug make sure it hasn't been damaged, the wires could be shorting inside the plug.
I would also say poor earth but that shouldn't cause the brake light to come on bright with parkers, quite the opposite. Could be many other things too, but these couple are easy to check. Lacking sleep otherwise I could think of other things to check.

it appears as if the leads for your brake lights are somehow connected or touching those of the parkers. check your bulbs in the boot to see if any globe connections are shorting out

i think i found it the rhr tailamp stop lamp socket appears to overheated with plastic seperation stop n tailight filamints melted will try a new taillamp wiring and socket
