No the fairmont/fairlanes were, I remember switching it off so my mums could have it still beep funnily enough.

we have auto lights on/off on the Terry.
What I was simply saying is that Aussie cars makers need to do better. And It's us buyers who need to insist on it! Every morning this week has been close to zero round my place so yes heated side mirrors is a cheap simple safety feature that I would very much appreciate. When they say it cost $3Bn to develop a car, surely they can hunt arround their worldwide parts bin and find a few things? The answer of course is marketing.... GLI is basic Futura gets a couple of things GLI should have std but is still way short of the mark. Fairmont is starting to be more like it. Fairmont Ghia nice but lots more $$ for a few luxuries.

falconboy wrote: Twins! Comfort and handling wise, I absolutely loved the VR berlina, but I don't miss the 13 times it was in for warranty service within 12mths......god dam it was a piece of junk!! Almost identical twins! I had a VX Berlina wagon with an LS1, and while it was a nice car and only a bit over a year old when we got it, it was a heap of crap, and was regularly in for warranty items, including the typical LS1 engine rebuild. As soon as the new car warranty was up, that pile of crap was traded on an ugly, slow and boring yet far more reliable AU. falconboy wrote: Thanks mate for that. I know it might seem a funny question, but why don't you swap the switch and see what happens? I wouldn't think it would cause a problem (don't shoot me if it does), I would think it would just not work..... I had hoped it would be as easy as replacing the switch, but it's not. The delay switch actually has it's own wiring loom, which I think plugs into the BEM. I will be swapping the Fairlane switch in, but only for looks (woodgrain), I can't be stuffed wiring in or figuring out the delay switch. LOL at people comparing features of Hyundai's with Falcons and Commodores. Go buy a new BMW etc, and see how happy you are with the features for the money(note, we are only talking about FEATURES not QUALITY). |

So why is the driver seat electric in the Terry Ghia whilst the passenger's is not? Why not have electric steering wheel adjustment?
I should stop whingeing.....

Amazing, mine wasn't new, so had the 'extended warranty' since I bought it from a dealer, but I also flogged it (at a big loss) after the extended warranty expired. In the 12mths I had it, replaced were water, power steering and fuel pumps, radiator, and of course 2 rear main seals were done. And thats only what I can remember. |
