Hi all,

I've just put some black/Blue AU sets into my EL..

I really want to put in a black carpet as well to get the starts of a color scheme happening.

Will an AU carpet fit in an EL? It will look silly if the only things in the car that are black are the seats.
I'm going to cover the door inserts with the same material as the seat inserts and the black carpet would tie it all together nicely.

Failing that, how good is recoloured carpet? could I dye or paint my existing carpet?

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks mate,

I have the chrome handles in now.. that classes things up a bit but I still think it needs more black.. The images make the black seem more greyish but IRL they are very black and stand out as the only black in the car.

the above carpet is from Knox Auto Carpets, i'd recommend them based on what i've heard.
Just avoid TruFit.

Knox Auto Carpets, those are the guys i had the ad from! ive got their super plush two piece carpet in my 1974 Datsun Skyline coupe and it is awesome! a few holes were left out that needed to be cut into it though for it to fit, but it looks great and is so much better then second hand stuff!

Yeah, I think it could be that hard... have a look at the floor pan of the E series.. it isn't flat.. particularly around the seat mountings and stuff.. if you don't have the gear to shape it.. it would look pretty crap.

worth 140 to get it right I think.

It's not just about "cutting" it. It needs to be shaped and backed and steemed to stay the proper shape... The 140bux is a great deal...

These guys have floor pans from every car, they can make it any colour, any thickness and for almost any car...
