hi all what is involved in putting a au centre console into a ef mont also will the power window buttons plug into the ef loom?

AU power window main switches are mounted on the drivers door, also the passenger front swith is on the passenger door. You would need to mount the AU door trims as well.

Yeh, I was thinking after I posted that, woder if you could mount 2 rear switches out of an EF/EL in the console somewhere. The BA swithes look good in that, be a bit of a bugger for the passenger but, suppose it depends on the passenger :D . Trouble with this one is that the OP has a Fairmont, you would have to try and mount 4 switches in the AU Console.

Or maybe prowl the wreckers and check for other car types, maybe there is something a little narrower that would suit.

au xr6 ones are illuminated.but yeah they sit on the door :P

Another big issue is that an XH doesn't have rear A/C vents and ducting. In the EF/L sedans and wagons the ducts are under the carpet and a real PITA. The AU console is also deeper as the A/C ducts are in the console.... watch this space :)
