Has anyone ever swapped an AU Console into an EA? If so, how difficult is it? Also, do they use a single console with a swappable insert for manual or Auto? i ask that last bit coz i have access to a wrecked AU Auto Motor is already earmarked for my EA at some point!), but it was an auto, and my beasty is a manual

think most people here have done it at sometime or another.... it's not hard to do

yes the part does swap [where the auto selector is] when fitting the manual to the AU motor there are two bolt holes that won't be used ... plus you will either need ta shave the fins on the front of the AU sump for a bit more clearance or cut a section out & get a flat piece welded in place [plus bend the front of the internal baffle slightly - mine has the piece cutout but sum here have just 'shaved' sump]

all up an easy swap to do

Yeah, from what i've seen the engine swap isn't difficult. i just want to give the motor a freshen up/once over and get it sorted how i want before the swap, but it's the console i'm wondering about.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but I figured it don't hurt to check for advice first! LOL

Weli I ripped it out of the parts car yesterday, and was planning to have bit of a fiddle, and maybe a trial fit today, but it has been suggested I do housework instead by the minister for war and finance :( Meh, if I get the chance i'll give it a whack

Had a quick look/test fit. didn't fit, due to the piping for the rear vents. Took the pipes out, and it fits! Got to sort out mounting, and a little trimming and such, but i'm excited! My project seems to be coming together!

Yeah, gonna check that later. tried to and the page was being a 'Tard! got an idea for it. was basically thinking of cutting the ducting on both, to use the relevant ends to mate up, and getting flexi hosing of the right diameter to run down the sides.
