Hey does any one have the latest version of the diagnostic mode for the au falcon's. I have the old one but want to see if anyone has found out what any of the other modes are.

Cheers

It took me a bit( and alot of f**k swearing) but i got it. I just used a watch. You have to time it pretty well. It's great although i wish i knew what half the bloody things meant.

I have been fiddling with it for awhile now.
I seem to have figured out one of the modes though.

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=34

The 2nd section of MODE 2 is Coolant temp ... but the first section looks to be what is displayed for the DTE on the low series ... I was testing this out yesterday and it seems to correspond.

The diagnostic mode can be entered by using the following method

1) With the ignition key in the off position, turn the Ignition Key to the On Position.
2) Using the Odometer Button, Press the Odometer Button Down, then release 5 Times within 10 Seconds (Note : You must be very accurate with the timing. Depress the Button for 1 second, then release for 1 second. Do this 5 Times in 10 seconds)
3) Release the Odometer Button for 5 seconds.
4) Depress the Odometer Button for 7 Seconds.
5) Release the Odometer Button for 5 Seconds.
6) Depress the Odometer Button for 7 Seconds.

Also found with MODE 2 Coolant Temp.

at 80 deg C ... it passes the last mark heading into the NORMAL range from the left.

Now mine reaches 94 degrees by the time the needles touches the left side of the "O" ... it still rises to the right side of the "O" though and then stays there.

Now I have heard on the V8 models that it only reports to 92 degrees for them ... and nothing inbetween 92 to 110 deg C (I think) is reported ... until it goes over that temp ... then the needle shoots up to hot.

I hope this is not the same with the I6 engines ... but it think it is the case though.
