Hi guys posting this on behalf of my old man.
He is asking how hard is it to swap the cluster from his AU II Ghia to the AU XR Tickford cluster? Is it a straight swap plug and play? How do the kms be made the same as the old cluster? Is it something Ford will do? Thanks guys ill pass this info on. Shaun.

Is he just doing this for the coloured dials/tickford wings? To swap the kms, there is an EEPROM chip on the Circuit board that needs to be swapped. There are also wiring differences between the XR and Fairmont clusters IIRC - It has been a whilesince I have looked at the schematics of the AU clusters. IMHO, Keep the Ghia one - it has alll the gauges, plus the higer series LCD

funny you mentioned that total tool. Yeah he wants the s2 cluster for the black face and tickford wings but thinking about it a bit more tonight id say the ghia has more options than the xr cluster anyway. Ie traction control lights, door open lights etc. id say its a backwards step.
Ill tell him to forget the idea as the ghia is a better cluster. Thanks anyway.
