hi im considering starting a new project and was wondering if any one has put a AU fairmont ghai dash climate control the works into a forte? im gonna swap the whole interior of the fairy into the forte just wondering if anyone has done it b4? also i wont have the second air bag in the dash on passenger side as it went of will it affect the fairmont computer as in will in sense that it's not there and display the airbag light? any help would be greatly apreciated

Im currently putting BA dash into my EF, beleive me its a big pain of a*** to change to a different dash.

yeah i put a FE dash into my XD not fun but this is AU into AU

you'll need to change the heaterbox probs. or atleast put all the assosciated wiring and motors on the existing one.
may 99 onwards are AUI update, and use smartshield as AUII and AUIII, but pre may99 use smartlock

AUI clusters etc aren't interchangeable with AUII/III as far as i know.

I put a el fairmont ghia dash into a el gli that was pretty straight forward i also installed the bem and computer in to, so i cant c why that swap would be different

because AU1's have smartlock and AU2's have smartshield.. so the electronics might be different.

it's a 1/99 so will it have smart lock or sheild?

Check out the au falcon section on the {DESCRIPTION} someone did install a fairmont dash into a forte from memory.

BAH THEY WILL GO IN YOU HAVE TO CHANGE ABOUT 5 WIRES AROUND IN THE PLUG AND GET THE SMALL PLUG AT THE BACK AS YOURS WIL ONLY HAVE THE BIG ONE

will i have to change the plug as i was goona swap the wirring loom as i will installing the power windows and probaly the VCT head too
