Are the backlights in the pwr window switches servicable ?

not generally but you can take them out. i did have some kicking around somewhere. i will try and remember to have a look for them tomorrow.

so when the backlight dies, i need to replace the complete switch? bummer!

basically yeah. but i will see if i can find these little globes that i pulled out of one a while back.
so you can actually take the globes out just a matter of trying to match them up with somethings thats all

Yeah they have small globes in them that are soldered into the holder.... Very f**k expensive Brad.
They're the same globes that are in the switches for the door lock, rear demist and aerial switches.
I priced them up a while back from my mate, from memory list was about $13 a pop, not cheap when you need about 10 of them lol.
Not a bad idea Nicko, but these are very tiny globes, not sure there'd be enough room for an LED but i'll have to look into it.

Well I have 1 switch which doesnt work, so I'll try and steal the globe out of it, and i'll buy a new switch to replace it. if I was planning to keep the car for a while I'd LED it for sure!

It'll be gone by the end of next year. I don't want to do any crazy-sick modifications that will kill its chances of a quick resale.
