What options are available for improving the seats in an AUII forte? I really dislike them.
Are seats from an XR a significant improvement?
Are BA seats swappable?

I dont want to be bothering with custom brackets and engineers certs etc.

Thanks

The BA seats i don't think are a straight fit, if i was in your position id go to a wrecker and find myself some fairmont ghia seats in leather or velour your decision (I prefer leather) these seats are a straight fit.

Yeah, that sounds good. Are they more comfortably molded as well as covered with nicer material?

What sort of price do people pay for these items?

From my knowledge they are shaped out better meaning that your back end will sit in position and back will be supported better, yes the velour seats have a better material and the leather is leather.... A lot better then pov pack seats...
Prices?? Well they vary you can try ebay and wreckers you could pick up a bargain, out of the top of my head i would say they would cost generally from $450 (bargain) to $1000 anything over that for fairmont seats is over paying.

Thanks for your input. Thats promising as aftermarket seats can be in that price range anyway.

I can't say I've been in many AU's before, but the AU SR that we had at work had comfy seats, and I think they were trimmed in black. Would these seats be different from standard? - If so, they might be the way to go

I'd be keen to find some for my EF cause the trim on the futura sucks.

Yes the AUII/III Falcon S/SR, & Falcon Classic, had a bit more of a sporty trim.

Your chances of finding a wrecked car, with black leather interior, is one in a million.

My seats are pretty good though, which are the same as yours. Or you can go an aftermarket job, which rip your material off, put a bit more padding down, and cover them in leather or vinyl (cheaper).

Expect to pay about $1000 for a full trim in cloth from a wreckers, and anywhere up to $1500 for a full leather trim, if you find one.

For memory i think full leather front seats are 350 each and back is 500 from Ford. I brought a Fairmont Ghia with partial leather because i couldnt find one with full leather that wasnt cracked or torn. I was going to buy the full leather but couldnt justify spending the money for a few more sections of leather.

I put XR6 seats I bought from a wrecker in my AU1 a couple of weeks ago. Extremely happy with them!
