Hi guys, can someone tell me if the series 11 Tickford cluster will fit into the series 11 Fairlane and all of the Fairlane readings will show.
What I am after is, at the moment the Fairlane shows the actual door that is open when it is, whereas the the earlier Tickford only shows the icon as all doors are open. Also with the distance to empty icon, it is on the early model Tickford cluster and the Fairlane has it in the climate control unit. I want to keep what the Fairlane cluster shows but with a Tickford face. I know that I can change the face but I am looking at another cluster for a mates AU Fairlane. Cheers. |

Door wiring is different between the low and high series.
Low series is simply a feed from the interior light (meaning 1 wire in total) while high series is 1 wire per door. Also a strong chance that the low series cluster may not have the Tx/Rx lines for the "message display centre" (trip computer) to work. I recall seeing nothing when I attempted to mod the AU Trip computer/climate control to work in my EL. The trip computer will not work without the high series cluster.

Many thanks for that. He has a Tickford cluster in his and it only shows that all doors are open on the dash instead of the original one that identified the actual door that was open. The guy that sold it to him told him that it came off a later series AU so it looks like it might be the early low series cluster. Cheers.
