Can the side air vents from the dash in Au 2/3 be removed? Ive tried but it feel like its going to snap

the one near the headlight switch should just pull out, the passenger side one has 2 screws to the right of it behind the airbag cover, its a pain the get the airbag cover off, if you just pull it you will break 4 clips (that can be easily replaced but are about $5 each from fraud) or you can remove the heater controls etc to get to the clips which isnt all that easy....
