Has anyone or does any members know if an AU sunglass/map light roof console fit onto an EA,s roof interior without complex modification??

id imagine it wouldnt fit that well as the curved roof shape of the au compared to the box cars roof... a BA one would look better in a EA...

I was actually having a look at it today, and the shape's a ll wrong. Definitely won't go in without some sort of custom work.

ok guys, its all fitted up to the roof lining. Now time to hook up the wiring with the fairmont loom. here are some pictures of the roof lining.

the first pic was just getting the basic shape cut out to suit, then after that the other holes are just for where the screws and the plate have to sit through. the fourth pic is just a little bit of trimming i done to make it a little more flat to suit the e-series shape as opposed to the au. but all in all, it sits pretty nicely into the roof lining. haha, rough cutting i know, hence why i'm the 'butcher'

MMMMM, nice job mate.

Pain in the butt having to remove the hoodlining though.

Sigh, another mod to go on the list.

haha, the hood lining removal wasnt as bad as youd think. was out in 10mins. Now its just trying to get all the lighting working correctly, but that will be next weekends job as its too dark and cold atm.

Yep, the hood lining isn't that hard to do. Still a pain in the butt though Hehe.

Thanks for that XPFalcon i will attempt it this weekend. Question does the roof lining sag due to the weight of the console and does it rattle around when driving seen it is not secured to the roof as i think the console is secured in an AU via the visors screw mounts?
