Ride: AU II Fairmont 6

Location: Ballarat
VIC, Australia

Hello, I've picked up an AU1 Fairmont Minus motor, box & Rad support for $250. (Total of $430 After a few beers, trailer hire & Petrol)

Negatives: Cars Never going back on the road.

Positives:
Leather/velour interior
all woodgrain/chrome parts in tact
2 Brand new tyres
LSD IRS Diff (Will sell, anyone else know what these fit)?

I'm now looking at fitting EVERYTHING possible, out of the AU1 into my AU2 Fairmont,

Apparently electrical wise there a bit of a pain to transfer certain things? I'm led to believe the cluster, Climate control woodgrain bit and a few others won't work with the AU2 Fairmont wiring, how true is this? also, will I have any trouble running the new window switches etc?

Cheers.

i'm also lead to believe that some parts of the cluster won't work on the AU2 [pretty sure i fitted a AU1 cluster & something didn't work?]. if you don't end up using the cluster/climate control etc let me know

with the window switches - do you have the fronts only on the AU2? all i know re switches is if you only have the fronts the switches from the 4 window set won't fit the wiring connectors as the front switches [only] have the larger connector lugs compared to the 4 window switches. if there is any differances with the wiring/switches ... i don't know

any items/stuff ya not using off the AU1 let me know

AU 2 cluster and C/Control are not interchangeable with the S1. I'm also fairly sure the electric seat are wired differently as well.

And if it's an IRS rear it won't be an LSD. The AU IRS is not compatible with any other model either.
The S2 boot spear looks better than the S1 item in my opinion and is a straight swap.
