I 2nd that glenn, which played a big part on me buying the au. But I dont believe there are many fairmonts or fairlanes with the black interior which is a shame :/
From what I saw its only the series 1 ghias that came in black I think |

all au fairmonts and fairlanes had an option of black interior i'm pretty sure... I think its colour dependant however. Say for example if you get a gold car, you can only get grey interior or something like that.

Guys, dont forget that alot of XR's had black interiors. If you are prepared to wait long enough like I did, just over 12 months, keep your eyes open at wreckers. I got a black leather interior out of a series 3 XR8, put it in the series 2 75th ann. Futura, leathered it up (steering wheel, handbrake & auto shifter) and chromed it up (door handles, handbrake, auto shifter and scuff plate inserts) and it looks sweet.

I meant XR/Fairmont Cluster.
A Fairmont Dash, can go into a Falcon. It's been done, before. You'll need to pretty much change everything. Of course the Dash, Wiring, BEM, Heater box probably, etc, etc. And if your gonna pay someone to do it, you'll be paying for a lot of hours of labour i'd say. My steering wheel controls arent wired up, but I know all about it. Read here: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=13051 Manual Conversions for an AU should go for about $1500-2000, then + labour + other bits and pieces. Mine should work out to be, about $1500, fitted. With a 40,000 kms XR6 T5, with new clutch, and new gear. Then i could probably recoup about $500, selling my low kms 4-Speed Auto. So about $1.5k all up to do it, after i sell some of my gear. Thanks

Noticed people talking about the momo leather gear knobs earlier in this thread.
Are these available? and if so, how much? I thought they were almost impossible to get?? And also, can they be simply screwed on to the EL 5sp gear stick? |

Mmm.. I've got bland old grey So will probably have to stick with grey leather etc when I do my interior, not sure how the black and grey will go together. LG, nice interior mate, cheers for your help. |

hey, this is kinda off topic a little but is it possible to put WRX seats into a AUII ute, i previously owned a XHII ute with said seats in them and i believe they are part of the reason i wasn't killed in that accident.

I got my MOMO Steering wheel and auto shifter (identical to LGs) from Roman Autotek in Sydney ... in the black and grey ... $200 for steering wheel and $80 for the shifter .... as yuo can expecty I bought them on the spot ... all brand new as well boxed up.
I need to get the Stinger adapter for the Pioneer headunit to work with the steering wheel controls (I have the same headunit as what LG has in his. LG: does the handbrake chrome button come with the leather handbrake handle???? That's what i am after .... along with the auto chrome button as well. Will be ordering bits and pieces from Ford for the door handles and other bits too (pretty good price for new)

Can get some nice T-series seats put in the AU Ute ..... "Sylox" on AFF has them in hus XR8 ute .. and they are nice bolstered (on par with XR seats) .... in leather with the Tickford wings stitched into them. Hotness

Am getting a new (grey) leather gear knob and woodgrain surround off ebay for $175... not sure if this is a good price but couldn't find a new one anywhere.
Mechan1k, that's a very good price on the steering wheel. If only I could find someone in Perth that did those sort of prices |
