one of my plans is to put the interior of a B or F series into my EF fairmont, but i also wanted the steering wheel aswell. I have heard that this canot happen as the airbag equipment for e series is incapatible with post AU. i am transfering everything from the B*/FG including engine ZF 6 speed and interior, was also wondering if i could transfer the airbag sensers ect, or if i could take it to ford or something so that i can have the steering wheel with an airbag, and maybe a passanger one to.

thanks

I know that TimmyA has fitted both B and F series steering wheels into his ED.
You'd have to PM him about it all.
I'm not quite sure on the differences between the ED and EF,
but hopefully theres a way.

If a BF steering wheel can fit into a '72 Mustang, anything is possible with the right equipment, cash and expertise.

Cheers,

i found out some more info. here is a PM i got:

basically i dissasembled the ba airbag from its mount frame then kept cutting metal from the el mounting frame untile it fit inside the ba mounting frame, once that was done i put el bag inside the ba frame and used stainless steel rivots to hold it in.... wiring is going to be your biggest issue, only if you have cruise control

if you need any more help, this would be the guy to talk to.

thanks

G'day I'm not sober enough to find the info now, however if you have a hunt, there is info, as me and others have done or tried to do such things.
Just to acquire a ba wheel in ef/L

also with this theres no point me putting the el airbag in as im using the bf wiring through out the car... so basically bf with el shell... just the front el sensor wont be apart of the bf airbag system.. worried that it might blow

i was told that i could be very dangerous to use safty gear not ment for that car as there are other factors in play, ie shape of car, other saftey devices, and since the ef isnt the same as a b series, it wouldnt be worth risking your life. you could still use the e series airbag aslong as you keep the e series saftey equipment, even if you do use the b series wires, as wires are all the same anyway. from what i have been told, it would be better to put in a little bit of time to do what kenay said, then to risk your life trying something else. but if you wanted some more information the people i talked to were TimmyA and Kenay. they helped alot.
