Guys the Ba has killed another actuator in the rear passenger door. How hard is it to replace myself as im not wanting to pay Ford another $220 to fix it, and can it be replaced with another model actuator or aftermarket actuator that has pehaps better reliability. Cheers.

the actuator is the same from AU to BA/Terrority the only thing that the AU one has a different rod, they don't seem to be that hard to replace if your mechanically minded cause it is a simple plug in,

yes but no au ba and bf all use the bf door lock actuators but au and ba will need a separate wiring loom that connects the door lock to the wiring loom this is because the bf use a different plug on their locks the jumper loom is about $15 also for the record territory door locks are different again and only suit territory's

mate there super easy to replace. im not terribly great on the spanner, and i managed to swap all four actuators in an au fairmont in about 1 to 2 hours. (that also included beer breaks)

Thanks guys for your helpful comments. I picked up an actuator from the wreckers and slipped her in for $60 bucks. It was indeed easier than i thought. My main concern on doing it was breaking the door trim clips etc but the operation went well. Im sure ill end up doing more of these actuators in the future.
