Hi all,
Been reading around the forum trying to get ideas for future mods and to try and solve my problem. Basically when I have the Air con on or even the heater the two vents on the passenger side will be a lot colder/hotter than the two vents on the driver side. I asked the service/parts guys at local Ford dealer and they said they have an idea on what the problem is but will charge me around 800 to pull the dash out to check to see if it is the problem. So I don't want to waste 800 bucks for them to have a guess at what is wrong. Anyone on here experienced similar problem or have an idea what the issue can be or how I can narrow down what the cause it and how I can check and do it myself. Thanks |

Mate 800 is a joke for them to just tell you what's wrong. If you don't already have one, get a repair manual for the BA... I'd be checking vacuum lines etc.

I got a service manual but I still couldnt figure out how to solve the problem haha
I think it is the vent articulator (spelling?) and I think that was the part I was looking at in the manual, but I don't know how to get to it which is what I thought the service manual would help me figure out too *sigh* I can mail or send the manual to you Bazz if you want maybe we can solve the problem together haha |

Just reviving an old thread. LOL
I have an odd problem with the heater/AC in my BA. two days ago I jumped in to drive into town and since it was raining, I pressed the defrost button to clear the windscreen. Normally it clears up in about 5 or 6 seconds. But this time it took about 50-60 seconds. I thought this was odd and reached forward to check the vents at the base of the screen, only to find that the vents above the stez were blowing warm air. I thought huh? I re-checked the screen and it had the defrost icon displayed and the "A/C" lit up. So i pressed a couple of other buttons to try it, but the air kept blowing out of the centre vents. I went past my mechanic and he had a look. He checked the fuses and connected the diagnostics computer, but got no error codes. I got him to pick the car up yesterday but when he got the car to his work shop and tested it, everything was working properly. He pulled the dash apart looking for the problem, just in case there was something loose. But couldn't find anything wrong. So he put it all back together. It was working properly today too.
