G'day All
Got a question how do you pull the silvery plastic backing off the shifter, i have it out of the car and i don't want to crack it trying to get it off, i have the fairmont ghia so the lever is covered in leather but i want to cover back with leather too.
Any help would be appreciated

i think its 1 whole unit....

it is possible to be done, i bought a leather xr one and put on an fpv silver piece. from memory you have to take it off the car by undoing the single screw. then push the button in and slide a screw driver into the gap at the top, and you should be able to pop the button out. once the buttons out you can see a screw that holds the silver part in. take that out, and the silver bit should slide off. is something like that, i did mine approx 12 months ago, so i may be a little off on the details, but thats the rough idea.
