Hi all new to this, I am at present in the process of purchasing a BA XR6. I would like to know if there is a known problem with the auto headlight feature, where when in auto, the headlights light up but no dash illumination unless you switvh lights on in manual mod. Thankyou for any help in advance.

Its an option unless its a fairmont or higher. The dash lights also come on when in auto.

There is an option for headlights on whenever the car is running. I believe Telstra vehicles have this. When this is on the dash light 'most likely' would not be illuminated as you would not be able to see the ICC in the daytime. I'd say it would use the light sensor on the top of the dash to turn the instrument lights on at night, as there is a version for cars with sat-nav.

My BA MkII XR6 has the auto switching headlights which you have to select auto on the indicator stalk. This turns on the headlights AND the dash lights even if the car is in the sunlight (after leaving undercover parking). When this happens you can't read the ICC.

What a long winded answer to a short question. Night shift adrenaline I guess.

All mk2's got auto headlights!

Or Any FPV or XR with luxury pack

Mine has it - i have access to all ford service bulletins and they don't have any problems listed - if it was common it would be there
