Has anyone had any luck in replacing a airmix rod in a BA/BF?
I am trying to remove the single airmix rod in the front air ducts and replace with 2 rods for dual zone climate control but the damn thing won't budge. Have done everything to the manual but still no go! This is last damn thing I have to do before it is all working.

OR does anyone know who does this sort of work in Adelaide (other than FORD) ?

Any help would be appriciated.

Yep, I've done it. nasty isn't it.

But I had the dash out and was able to see inside the box. With the temp set to extreme cold, the vanes are suppose to stop at a point where the sides and caught by a little bit of plastic, so you can swap the rods. But I found I had to apply so much force that the sides would pull past this plastic anyway.

From what I saw, I think it would be near impossible to do it without having access into the HVAC.

I used some WD40 to loosen it up a bit as well. I found with the HVAC open, I had to put an 8mm open-ended shift in there and hold back the sides so the rod would slide through.

I'll see if I can find some pics.

Here's one. It was 10mm spanner actually. Used to hold the side of the vane while I pushed the rod in.
