yes that plate, that definately should only have a month/year date on it.

Well then The plate lies :x (bastards...I know that guy i bought it off was a bit shady.this dude had like 7 VL's sitin in his back yard.)

check to see if the vin no on the plate matches the vin no on the inner guard??
you might have a bodgy??

Sorry to say its an EB1 Fairmont

The wiper cowl is an EA type and the trip and climate control are silver faced and speakers are 4 inch and no smarlock is not fitted but it should have central door locks (Central remote locking minus the remote).

EB2
It has a different wiper cowl and the trip and climate control are black and the speakers are 6 inch later builds had smartlock (BenJ knows the year)

my eb2 is a 92 model and it has smartlock!!!
i cant see ford not putting smartlock into some and not others, it dont make sense!!
every series 2 eb after july 92 and ed i have ever seen has has smartlock..

O well, but it's still a good car tho. I've got 7x10's to put in the back and i want EF/EL ghia door trims taht would be phat as.Im not sure if i should get after market alarm tho(the ba remote looks good on my keys :) )
