Confirming - EB II pre 7/92 may not have smartlock - my 6/92 didnt. But after that - yes.
Smartlock should also have something on the one of the rear door quarter windows. Nigel |

another thing you can do to see if is smartlock is put a smartlock ecu in and if the light flashes it has smartlock. or take the covers off behind the steering wheel and if there is two plugs of wires going on the ignition barrel it has got a smartlock ignition barrel.

Just reach your hand up around behind the dash above the handbrake area and see if you can feel a box with plugs in it then you have a smartlock module and it will be red in colour then you have it. If it is not there you will not have it and so no smartlock is fitted.
We have already established from the photos that it will not be an EB2 but it will be an EB1 by the features and differences the car has so no smartlock will be installed in the car. |

i have an eb II fairmont it has :electronic climate controls, cruise control, electric mirrors and power windows and smartlock. The trim is slightly different and looks like u have a smaller speaker mesh for the front doors from what i hear the series 1 had the 4 inch and series 2 the 6 inch speaker in the doors, also i have the "sports" dash. i would also say urs is a series 1 from what i can see mate

yea some how because a smartlock car will start with a non-smartlock ecu but a non-smartlock car wont start with a smartlock ecu or maybe its just my car that wont start with a smartlock ecu

I say you have an early EB2 if a smartlock ECU will not work unless the module is playing up |

I say you have an early EB2 if a smartlock ECU will not work unless the module is playing up but it has the original computer in it. if it is smartlock ecu and the module is broken it wouldn't start anyway. i know that if your smartlock module is playing up you can hit just above the handbrake with the key on start and it will start
