I've had a search buy can't find anything specific,
has anyone seen or know about fitting a BA (XR6) instrument cluster into a EA?
Is it as easy as wiring the plug from the BA onto the EA loom?
Any leads would help thanks guys.

Nope next to impossible without hours of creative circuitry...

The whole BA cluster works on their CANBUS (or whatever its called) system, works in conjunction with the BA computer...

EA has just lots of sensor inputs basically...

Cheers,
Tim

Hey Tim, I was jus lookin throughyour gallery, nice car while I'm there too, I noticed you have the fpv manual shift knob. Where did you score that from? I've been lookin for one for a while buy havnt turned anything up.
Also the suround too, is that a custom job or dose it fit into the stock ea console?

I acquired mine damaged (holes in boot) for nothing...

I had an upholster do another boot in a better quality vinyl that matched the vinyl in the chairs for it and fitted that (that was a nightmare)...

You have to change the steel u bracket on the bottom to the EA-ED one (the BA one has a bolt pressed into it)...

I made a cardboard template and enlarged the hole the EA-ED manual surround, it just fits covering the corners where the rectangular boot used to be...

It has also had at least 2" cut out of it and then I spaced it back and tack welded it and then bent it so it sat right in the middle of the boot when in neutral and then welded it up and painted it for rust proofing...

And you end up with what is pictured in my build thread, rather than my gallery (I think it had the black boot in my gallery, and was way to long in the shift stalk)... Check my build thread (link is in my signature down bellow)...

Cheers,
Tim
