to take it out you need to remove the drivers seat, the complete centre console, the handbrake, the banana trims, and then the tissue holder.. a aftermarket head unit will fit easily in its place. some people make a fake fascia for the head unit with mdf and screw it into place, or you can buy fascias from ebay or supercheap, which you put in place of the tissue box holder and you can retain your power socket.

iirc to take out the tissue box, you have to,
1. remove the auto shifter surround 2. remove banana trims 3. remove centre console (to do this requires undoing the handbrake bolts which requires removing the drivers seat) the tissue box im pretty sure has 2 screws holding it into the centre console,, and the centre console needs to be moved to get it out. i could be wrong though as mine was done at the same time as changing the shifter globe, which neccesitated the console removal anyways. |

hey mate takes bout 5 mins to do. just pull out cup holder auto surrond 2 screws for the banana trims then jst 2 screws holding it in. if you go to a car audio shop they should new holders for a heaad unit. i bought mine from autobarn for $100 expensive but it was metal so no chance of breaking. r u putting in a double din or fold out dvd player... the space is very tight when its in because of all the wires nd crap

The tissue box holder is a pop off the shifter surround, two screws for the 'bannana strips', then twos crews for the tissue box holder. Initially I modded the tissue box holder to fit a deck in. I changed to the same as troy1, as it looks better, and centres the head unit. You can see here the where the screws go (the white discoloured screw marks) just below and to the left of the ICC. Also you can see how much room (there's not much at all) there is. Most head units (especially those with lots of RCA outputs) are a very tight fit back there.
