my window has gotten to the point where i have had enough. it is really slow going up. could this be the electric motor has gone and could i take it anywhere besides ford?

get some silicone spray and spray it inside the window guides with the windows down
and run the window up/down a dozen times, and do it again. just make sure u wipe off any excess outside the tracks |

As expression said... mine was the same, almost had to help it up at time! Chucked the silicon spray on, no more problems. If it starts to slow up, just repeat the process.

you would be better of using dry lube in a stick, you just rub it into the seals and no mess
