Does anyone have any tips on what to do with the silver auto shift surround that tends to bubble up on a ba auto? Does anyone know why it does it?

The one you want is part number BA F044F06B5. |

I haven't seen a BF one do it, but have seen the silver door handle accents on BF's do it.

my bf has 99k on it and lives outside and hasn't done it, my mates ba has unsure of k's. they do it because they are inferior lol
the silver door handles on mine were ok when removed at 90k i would say that people neglecting their interiors are to blame. i use an aerospace 'plastic sunscreen' on mine and everything still looks like it did the day it rolled out of the factory and it's never been garaged.

Yep, my BA has been garaged for almost 4 years and it started bubbling a little earlier this year. Oddly enough it just bubbled around the 'D' marker. Weird.

I thought they bubble up because of the heat coming from the globe underneath. Especially around the 'D'. some guys have fixed this by replacing the globe with an LED light.
Luckily so far i have not had this problem on my BA and now has 98K on it but i suppose my good luck will finally end. Something to ponder about.

Exactly... and i think the rectified this in the BA by fitting them standard with LED. Mine is f**k too, but i CBF changing it, because i aint going to change the globes and it will just happen again. |

Well since it's about the same amount of work to change the bulbs as it is the shifter thingy anyway, do both at the same time.
