Can someone please take a photo of their roof console if they have the High Spec version? I've never seen one, and don't know what differences it has over the Low-Spec 'Map Lights Only' version.

While the low-spec version is a simple pop-out and go unit, the workshop manual gets a bit in depth about what is required for the high-spec, to the point of having to remove roof linig, which is a bit scary. The images in the manual confuse me a bit.

Its just got a sunglasses holder intergrated into it. The Ba's with this also have courtesy lights in the back seats too.

So is it a pop-in replacement, or do more holes need to be available for it to mount?

its larger than the standard one, you would need to cut your roof lining more

i was under the impression that the map lights and sunglasses holder were all part of the same piece of plastic . . . well at least i am pretty sure thats what i thought. I cant see then why u couldnt remover the map lights covers and just replace it with the new piece. All you would have to do is mount the sunglasses holder/lights piece on to the roof and plug the lights in to the back of the new map lights.

the sunglasses holder absolutley does require a larger hole in the head lining. The map lamp piece is the same iirc but in fairmonts etc the map lamps clip into the sunglasses holder as opposed to the roof lining..
