i am looking at up grading my ba ute icc to a colour screen six disk acc one... is it just a simple un plug the old one and plug in the upgrade.. if not what would be required.. thank you

No not Plug and Pray, the ICC sound system is the front end for the can bus and is part of the security system. Changing it will disable the car until Ford can match it to your car.
You could take it to ford and get them to swap it out or do it yourself on their door step.

WRONG. Well kinda right... Not a straight swap but it wont disable your car... Cos you just use the bem and remote sensor from you own car; then just get the radio coded. Piss easy. I've got a color dual zone unit in my ba ute.
