So the rough list of parts required stands at:
-New ICC
-Auto headlights switch
-Passenger mirror with ambient air temp sensor
-Sunload sensor
-Dualzone airmix shafts
-LHS door wiring harness

Does this door harness match the chassis wiring or does that need to be changed too?

The car in question is a 2003 XR6T with MCC no premium sound. It's a Mark 1 too so no auto headlights.

You missed the drivers airmax actuator and subharness. But yes, you're about right.

The LHS Main harness is good, no changes needed there.

But if you don't have premo sound or auto lights off, you'll probably need to change the dash harness so as to get the lines to auto-lights switch and the sunload sensor.

By the way, the DZ ICC Harness includes the clock connector, so you can include an optional dash-clock if you want. It'll just plug in and work.

Sweet, good to hear. I'm going to attempt this conversion myself in the near future with the aid of dave (xpression). Hopefully we won't have too many dramas.

I might skip on the clock though, I just installed a boost gauge, oil temp and oil preassure up there :D

Thanks to FTG my climate control conversion is here. Let's see how long it takes to get it all working :)

Got a PM from Toymachine Re: his connection of a Nokia N95 to his Screen. And it spurred a bit of activity.

I'm looking at a replacement for my mobile as well, and the N95 is a good fit.

One thing I'll say though, is that with the Video/Audio out active by the cable, I don't think the Bluetooth can be active. But with Video Player / MP3 Player / Sat Nav ability, it might be just about everything I'm after except OBD on the screen.

Some useful links I've come across on considering alternatives:

(1) 7" Touch Screen Overlay kit: http://www.digitalww.com/store/proddetail.asp?prod=TS7K

(2) Even though they've been around for ages, it's still the first time I've seen them. Check out the youtube video: http://carputersystems.com.au/default.aspx

(3) Centrafuse Software: http://www.fluxmedia.net/
Of interest is the OBDII Plugin which supports ELM327: http://www.fluxmedia.net/downloads/plug ... manual.pdf

Hmm. That all just makes life difficult....

Lukey - check out XR6 Turbo forums, there's a few very good carputer setups there with decent documentation including that carputer systems one. He's actually got a kit up for sale that I probably would buy if it wern't an outrageous ripoff ($4000)!!

Headlamp Delay Lock
Write to 10 secs 726 05 3B 0f 78 3C 0A
Write to 0 secs 726 05 3B 0f 78 3C 00
Read 726 02 21 0f
Headlamp Delay Door Open
Write to 10 secs 726 05 3B 0f 78 0A 00
Write to 60 secs 726 05 3B 0f 78 3C 00
Read 726 02 21 0f
Headlamp Delay Ignition Off
Write to 10 secs 726 05 3B 0f 0A 3C 00
Write to 60 secs 726 05 3B 0f 3C 3C 00
Write to 120 secs 726 05 3B 0f 78 3C 00
Read 726 02 21 0f

Lukeyson

so 726 05 3B 0F aa bb cc

aa = Ignition off delay
bb = Door open delay
cc = Car Lock delay

obviously the second value in binary/hex
Very nice :P

Yeah, it's a 'write by offset' (3B) where the offset is 0F.

The read by offset (21) shows what it is currently set to.

The offsets with valid data on the BEM range from 0x00 to 0x10, but I've not mapped out what they all do yet.

The Inhibits are all in offset 00 (Bat Saver, Horn Warn, Courtesy Lamp, Taxi Mode).

Offset 10 does the Autolights thresholds.

And that's all I've got.

You will still need a new ICC with the climate control, air mix shafts and a new actuator motor thingo.. if you car doesn't have auto headlights (ie a Mark I BA) you'll need the indicator/wiper stalk assembly too. Here's the parts I got from FTG for my climate control conversion.. sorry for the crappy quality, I couldn't be a*** taking to a location with reasonable light :D

New ICC (includes a high series BEM)

Indicator/wiper stalk assembly

Dash wiring loom

Image
New mirror w/ ambient temp sensor and LHS door wiring loom

I forgot to get a pic of the sunload sensor, air mix shafts and actuator but you get the idea.

Hi fnp/Luke/anyone else who's done the change - do you think it's possible to just replace the fascia and buttons to dual zone if you've got the premium audio already (colour screen, high series BEM but MCC).

I know it's probably easier to just buy the full dual zone icc, but if it's just the cover, buttons and looms that are different then it sounds plausible. Of course if there's a few circuit boards behind there that are different then that's another story.....

Cheers,
Dan
