The sequential shift works and is so much fun to drive, but is due for a software edit to improve functionality.
The console conists of 3mm MDF, wood ribs to get the curves in both directions (the BA Shifter is not flat), a 3mm foam layer to smooth the bumps out, and then grey vinyl for the final cover, all up the console cost around $50 for all the materials (heaps left over though) and about 1/2 a day to put together. The other costs are: BA shifter from ford $300 odd (i got mine free), the shifter cable $75 from ford, the electronics side of things is around the $200 odd mark, so about $600 would see it in your car with NEW parts. The gear select LED will be integrated to the dash between the tacho and the digi speed readout, I have just put it in an easy viewable position for now. thanks for the comments guys, I agree it does stand out a little, but with the silver in the middle, and the grey vinyl being in between silver and the existing grey velour, i think the integration works nicely.

So do you replace the TCM entirely or does it have some sort of wiring harness to co-exist with the BA electronics?

Eletronics are so much as you have to make the PCB, there is the programming of the PIC chips, there are several realys, reistors, a LED display etc, thats why so much
It is an overlay to the existing TCM, so much like the shift kits can be easily removed, the BA shifter has a small amoutn of electronincs in it mainly just a small hall effect pic up circuit, the module built interfaces between that and the TCM, the LED display (optional at around $60) is connected to the interface module. hope thats clear, any other questions, comments, etc.

There is no 4 speed with in-built trans ecu, you would mean integrated into the ECU, and the answer is YES.

Well i have an EF lined up to do next (they have integrated trans ECU), you are in WA I am in VIC, unless you are coming to VIC be a bit hard for me to help
, but once kits are made, be more then happy to answer questions.

Dellboy, i think you said it would be no problem to set it up without the BA shifter ie use shift paddles on the steering wheel, etc. im guessing you could then save 300 on the s**t and 75 on the shifter cable? btw, my next car be auto. then i will be very intrested in this project...

correct, yes you will be able to with a small extra interface add on and a way to interface via the horn feed to the steering wheel is being looked at.
