yes i know that ford say you can't put aftermarket seat covers on seats with side airbags

BUT what if the seat covers had cutouts where the side airbags are so that if the airbags ever do inflate (shudder) they won't foul on the sheepskin cover?

I reckon i can feel the airbag in the side of the seat and think i could probably make a cutout about 1.5 times bigger than the size of the airbag all round.

Safe or not?

i wouldnt be doing it in a hurry. I've set these airbags off and theyre nasty when they go off... they actually take half the side of the seat with them when they go off...
