Hey just wondering does a ba steering wheel fit onto a ef colum and is the air bag setup the same way

Yes and no, the airbag and steering wheel controls are different, but the the wheel does fit but sits a bit further back towards the driver.
Not to say you can't get the rest of it working. Somebody here had one fitted and was working on the controls and airbag, hopefully he''ll reply let you no how he went.

its illegal to do that because the ef came factory with a steering wheel airbag |

yeah but if a cop looks at the wheel and see the ABS logo on the wheel he will prob turn a blind eye thinking that it has ABS a mate has done it to his EF falcon

Dont do that dodgy. If the airbag setup works the same and u can make it work. go for it.. dont do a dodgy though.

although it's doing the dodgey, if your only runnin 3rd party, why not? Then if you do get hurt you only have yourself to blame, If this is a fairly simple mod i might look into it.

i would also like to know how this is done? Is it as simple as tracing each wire from each wheel and joining it to the correct wire on the clock spring?

no it isnt, they run different amps and wat not, u need to add resistors and crap
|

i think the resistors are only for the air bag side.
Can someone please clarify this? |

Any other news on this, because im thinking of putting in an EF steering column into my ED and fitting a BA/BF Wheel

ok.... i have just purchased a bf fairlane wheel and will put in so ill let yous know what needs to be done. as it looks like no one knows yet.
