I'm heading into my local Ford dealer today to pickup my Rear Footwell Lamp Lense. I'll post pictures in the 'footwell lamp' thread shortly.
But my extra mission is to get pricing on the Sunvisor Courtesy Lamps fitted on Fairmonts and Ghias that are up in the roof lining behind the sunvisors. I will update shortly with further information. Lukeyson |

the lights aernt in the sunvisors on the monts, from my memory only the fairlanes have them, good luck with it

Really? Interesting. Territory Ghia has them.
They are available for about $21 each. Part number is BA13A701A. I can see connectors for them in the roof wiring harness are C-142 and C-143. But I've checked already and I don't seem to have them. They appear to be identical to the rear drivers and passenger side door lamps. However, while the rear door lamps are wired as 'on' or 'courtesy', the sunvisor lights are just 'on' or 'off' - so can be spliced directly to the map-reading lamps in th centre. Did any of that make any sense? We couldn't find the part numbers for the in-door drivers and passenger courtesy lamps. They appear to be integrated into the whole door trim. Lukeyson - yeah can be done - but i believe there is a recession for them in the headlining.
there is also a electo illuminiscent rear vision mirror which auto dims - i fitted this to my vehicle and bought a ltd roof harness just to get the plug so i could splice into the map lights. Expensive mod - but i am yet to see too many other people with it! Make sur eyou need a new windscreen when you install it as theres is a 90% chance you will break the screen when you pull it off! ill take some pics if you want

The problem with that mirror is that I still on occassions use it to dip manually so I can see the kids in the rear seat.
Granted I now have a 'cabin monitor camera' so I haven't done that in awhile, but the missus is complaining in her Terence Ghia that she can't see anything since she has no dip and no cabin camera (which will get fixed shortly). Then again, she was thrilled the other night when the cars behind her changed colour and dimmed by themselves. You win some you lose some. Lukeyson |

I do alot of country kms - so its very handy for me! ill send that cd to you when i get back to work on monday from holidays! 2 weeks of bludging over! Theres a couple of things i have on the list to do to my car Integrate factory sat nav, Id like to do memory seats, factory reverse sensor install (piss easy plugs straight in!), I have a starter button thinking about putting it in. Memory seats isnt a big deal for me as i am the only one who drives my car but dip in reverse would be very handy!

Yes, dip in reverse is a big motivator. I manually dip my mirrors to park at the office every day.
Regarding the reverse sensor, I think there are some loom changes to consider. The main one I know of is the loom from the RHS rear to the Hitch plug. The alternate loom disables the sensor when something is hitched to the back. But other than that, I haven't look much into it - the looms get confusing back there for me, especially with the Sat-Nav and Antenna Module in about the same area. I noticed today that the MIssus' Ghia doesn't have that loom for disabling when hitched on reverse. When I reversed a trailer for the first time today it came on hard and didn't shut up till I stopped the car. But I'd like to hear more about it if you do it. Lukeyson |

Hey, dude, I found another thing to be careful of if you're adding reverse sensors.
Check out page 418-00-4 of the BA Workshop Manual. In summary, it says that there are two separate 'Car Communication Networks' in a BA, the ISO9141 bus and the newer CAN-HS Bus. The CAN bus hosts the PCM, TCM (Dual Connect), BEM, ICC (Or ACM) and IC. The ISO9141 bus hosts the ABS, TCM (Dual Connect), Restraint Control Module and PAM - Parking Aid Module. I expect everything would be fine just to add it in, but it's clear now that the PAM has to be wired into the rest of the car for diagnostics. It just raises doubt for me now whether all harnesses would carry that network back there for no reason if not used. I know that the CAN bus has to be terminated with a special module with a 120Ohm impedance (as that's what I've been focussing on of late) but don't know if the ISO9141 bus is the same. Bloody hell - a WDS?
Is this a loan or a permament thing? Those things ain't cheap! Mate, if you get access to a WDS, I'd be super keen to figure out a way to use it to reverse-engineer what's going on over the CAN bus (See my 'Scantool Fun' thread in the ECU Forum.) Lukeyson |

Hey luke,
Yeah we are getting obd scanners in at work and teh manufacturer apparently does a pds/wds. Our purchasing departments is getting som eprices and hopefully a sample for me to play with and try and sell to auto mechanics and auto elecs!
