Hmm... I don't mind it, however I think it looks a little 'busy', for lack of a better word. Very clean job, though.

Too much I think.
Looks ok in the first two pics, the third (overall) it sticks out like the proverbial canine reproductive organs. But hey, if you like it, that's all that matters. (you've obviously have had a free weekend thus far).

I'm not sure that I like it myself, that's why I got an extra drivers switch with surround so I could experiment on it, which would let me put the old one back if I didn't like it.
But then again I'm not sure that it sticks out either. It just makes the seat and the wheel look even more bland then they were originally. Lukeyson |

There are no smooth BA grab handle inserts.
But I hooked into mine with sandpaper and smoothed them right out. I thought it was well worth the effort, they came out great. But that was before my BF interior conversion which swapped out the door panels as well. I've still got them. When I sold my BA interior I put the originals back. (When I do stuff like painting I try and do it on a spare piece so I can swap back to factory if it doesn't work.) I'll dig them out and take some pics. I'm sure I also had some pics floating around when they were installed... Lukeyson |

I swapped the whole door trim. Swapping just the handles can be done, but it requires 'plastic welding' since the handles are attached to the door like this. I've not tried melting plastic to get them on and off. Getting them off with heat would be easy, but I think most people then use washers and self tappers to get them back on again - and complained excessively about the stench of melting the plastic....
Might be worth a trawl through this website or AFF to see how many have done it in the past. Lukeyson |

I got hold of a two-button ute switch and unclipped the surround from it. You can find switches going on eBay all the time.
I can't imagine it would be easy - or even possible - to do a woodgrain finish. Unless there's some way to get wood-grain contact from a newsagents or anything like that. Lukeyson |

How'd you get the dash-clock surround colour to match? Did you re-paint your ICC as well? Lukeyson |
