Hey guys just wondering if anyone know if the seats are a straight swap in to an ef mont? ie will the ba xr seat rails go in to the ef or will i need to use the ef rails? will the efrails line up to the ba seats?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Pat

You can do it with AU seats (I know because I have) but I didn't think it was as easy for BA seats or I'd have already done it.

I've seen au seats in an ef so i know that can be done... Not to keen on being a "pioneer" with ba seats given the cost of the xr's.
Still think they would look awesome retrimmed in the ef interior Cheers guys

2 ways, either add the EF rails n s**t to the BA seat, or add the BA rails n base to the EF body, I'd go with the former.

EL rails bolted straight on.. nice and easy.
in the back you will need to change the seat lock pin for a loop and the bollards are slightly different, but its not that hard. |

When he says "rails" he doesn't just mean the runners at the bottom. You basically remove the seat back, and then the seat bottom and put them aside.. then do the same with the old seats and throw all the mech including the seat back include adjuster and everything aside.. then bolt the back and base onto the E series mech.. It's fiddley, but not very hard.
AU and BA are similar from a lot of perspectives.. so perhaps seating is one of them. If that is the case, then one day in the future about a year from now when my supercharged ghia is hooning around.. I'll get a set of EL electric bases and bolt some BF seats onto them... just for that extra coolness. |

Hey guys thanks for the replies it has helped me alot. I have sourced a set of ba xr seats front and back and will pick them up sometime this week or next. I'm not sure if i should put the rears in though, I have an ef mont ghia and the leather rear seats have barely been sat in and are really comfortable besides which the more i replace the more i have to re-trim we'll see though. i'll get pics up as soon as i'm done.
