Hey there,
Having an issue with my air conditioning. Car is a BA falcon. Have noticed recently when I switch the air con on, I can hear a thud underneath the passenger seat. Today when I switched on no more thud, but now cool air is only working on the drivers side. So drivers side vent is ice cold, drivers centre vent is cool, passenger centre vent is hot and passenger side vent is hot. Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Cheers. |

Yeah common problem with the BA's, Dash has to come out to replace a $50 plastic shaft that snaps. But costs $900 in fraud labour to get to it. I would replace both at the same time if i was you!

thanks for the replies. May give it a shot myself using the repair manual as a guide. Anyone know if it is a hard job to do?

not hard to replace just quite involved. if its an XT however it will only have 1 shaft and its odd for there to be a temp difference. i have seen them with a temp difference when low on gas too so it might pay to get it checked

oh ok, that would seem odd if there is only 1 shaft as my drivers side is ice cold. I am located North of the river (Joondalup way).

I only have my 2005 bf xt falcon and i start my car this morning and on the dash where the air con is thers a symbol falshing on the bottom right corner it falsh 5 times then i tried to turn the air con On it wont start and even i put the fan on wont turn on i tried to dis connect the battery and then i start the car same thing happen please help me im struggling

My 2004 ba xr6 has done the same it only happened last Tuesday and my reverse lights fuse blew and I put a new one in and it blew as well and I don't know what it could be I checked all the fuses and the the reverse lights fuse was the only one please help if anyone knows how to fix problem thanks Brad
