Hi All,

Ok so the backlight on my odometer has gone. The guy at Ford told me not to even bother getting them to fix it as it would be too expensive. So here comes the fun of thinking about doing it myself.

Do I need to remove the whole dash to get at it. What would be the easiest way of replacing it?

Thanks

Hold on ... what model vehicle do you have.
If you have an AU ... there is no need to pull the dash out.

I have just had mine die on me as well ... but it's just a case of 2 screws .. and then lever the cluster out from behind (using a long screwdriver up through the fuse box panel under the dash).

Also my fuel gauge looks to be playing up ... so i might just replace my entire cluster anyway.

Not sure on other Falcon clusters though.

whoever told you it was too expensive to replace needs to be slapped severly.

Its a 10 min job.

Thanks for the all info. I meant to mention it was an EL falcon in the original post. I've checked overy the technical doc's and it doesn't look too hard to get at the instrument cluster and change the bulb. will give it a go this weekend :)

Thanks
