On my wagon the spare wheel well doesn't have a spare wheel in it it's what seems to be the top of the petrol tank on one half and then there's the big LPG cylinder/tank.
Was wondering if it'd be safe to make up a shhelf out of MDF to sit down there with my battery and tthee subs amp? I don't see why not as the battery and amp donn't, orr shouldn't spark, and the tanks are sealed anyways. Aswell as the tanks already have wiring running around them (the petrol tank has a positive and negitive wire running in it to the pump). And on a lot of race cars you see the fuel cell in the boot and tthe battery in a box next to it. So should I be alriight to do this? |

im guessing your going to run a wire from the front battery through to your rear battery right?? should hope so...
the battery should be fine in there aslong as its secured and doesnt short with the chassis, invest in some terminal covers too just to be safe

if its sealed type should be fine- dont want battery acid eating through a gas tank now do we...

I did this 10 years ago on an LPG XD - but I had the battery next to the tank.
You will have to make sure the battery box is sealed, and vented to outside the box. Check with the rego boys to make sure cause they are pretty fussy about this. Nigel |

It'ss an Optima Bluetop, so yes sealed, it's going to be mounted on it's side too... |

Nigel I'm not worried at all about the legalities, or about weather the car would pass rego (it's registered now so won't have to go overr the pits again), just want to makee sure I'm safe and not going to blow up!

also, i may be missing something here but i dont quite see the point in sticking the battery in the back if its fine up front? fill me in a bit here...
