I got it direct from FTG auto salvage.

Cool, that's where I ordered mine. Should arrive this week. Obviously Darren has excelled himself again with another satisfied customer.

So andrewsfutura, are you happy with the upgrade? How's visibility during the day?

Absolutely love it. There is no screen glare at all in the sun and the clarity is fantastic. I've hooked up the DVD player to it as well and its fantastic.

They are a great screen, shame Ford didn't really do anything with them.

Well guys, my ICC arrived today, just spent the last 90 minutes or so installing it.

I swapped the BEM into the new ICC, plugged it in, and everything works a treat. The car starts with no problems. No need to visit Ford. Looks like keeping the battery connected did the trick.

The screen looks absolutely AWESOME. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Now all I gotta do is work out how to program the radio stations in again!

One query though. The new ICC had a superfluous cable dangling at the end. Is this for GPS/DVD hookup? It doesn't seem to plug anywhere.

The GPS hookup is a socket on the bottom of the unit.

Can't think of what the extra cable would be. Didn't forget to hook up the antenna did you?

Definitely not, everything is hooked up and working great. The cable is superfluous, that's the key point here (ie, exists on the new ICC, not the old standard ICC). Hence, there was nowhere for it to go. My thoughts are its for the GPS/DVD/SatNav hookup.

If it's the 10-pin connector on the plastic carrier that screws to the BEM - yes, that's the video input.

That's the one I'm talking about, yep. I figured it was a video input of some sort. Good to know the option's there if I ever decide to use it.

Well Lukeyson ... does this mean Darren gets the "I told you so" about the installation? :)

He sure does!

It goes against the advice in the manual and when I did mine, but heck, as long as you're working that's all that matters.

There's a few different models of ICC.

essentially because it's compoentised, you can get combinations of...

single of 6 stacker CD
base screen, mid screen, high (colour) screen
manual a/c, auto climate control, dual zone auto climate control.
white, green, orange, blue lighting

some combinations aren't available, eg. with a 6 stacker you get the mid or colour screen.
dual zone climate control you get the colour screen only.

Only the colour screen, can have rear view and/or satnav added. To add dvd/pc to the colour screen you use the satnav input, it's a funny combination of NTSC RGB component video. You generally need a converter (or special video card) to feed it the right signal to work.

As for lighting, you got what matched the rest of the car. white for higher series, green for pov packs, orange in some territory models, and the blue only in XR's and FPV's.

HI all
I am about to Install a Premium icc out of a 06 XR6 Sedan into a 06 XL ute...... Reading thought all the posts on the subject Is it correct if I DONOT disconnect the battery it wont need reprograming?
Or because I am upgrading it will have to be reprogramed?
I know I have to use the BEM and Remote sensor in the car is there anything else I need to do...
Thanks Barnzey

IIRC FTG send their second hand units to ASL to have the security function removed before he sells them :)
