Bunter, you are not to put an EL XR6 front end on... that is my plan and I want it to be unique.... :-(

The Race Is ON!!!!

Who can do it first LOL

But, you and BuNter are at other ends of the country, so it is highly unlikely the two cars would ever be seen together.

its already been done by a fordmod member if i remember right

and i know a guy on AFF did it when he crashed his eb and desided to put the ef front on it.

i am in no hurry as the first thing i want done is the NF/NL LTD dash first

Cool.

I don't want to change my dash.. I think the Ghia digital is great.. and I have a seriously modded center section anyway so I could get my DVD screen and 5x7" split center channel in. (I have 5.1 DTS sound in my car)

I know a guy that can sell me an EL XR aftermarket front bar for 350.... gonna get me one of them..

f**k mate awesome work, i've been watching this thread, and your others, for a while now.

i've always loved those seats that you have in yours, look much better than the EF ones! and it looks strange seeing that dash without the normal wheel on it!

also good to see how you are doing it all on a budget, that definitely ring a bell for me too!

Benj the plastic shroud around the wiper arms below the windscreen looks different. have you changed it for something else? something i was looking at doing but the holes dont line up in the ED model strangely.

Lookin hot BenJ!

Now i have to make a hard choice, what model donor car i'm buying next! Bought an ED GLI for the 5spd conversion, now i'd love the EB/ED leather seats, and i would also love the ef/el door trims & mirrors. So either a EB II or ED ghia or fairlane for the seats & a sunroof, or a EL for door trims, mirrors & a few other little bits. 8-)

I can hear a cry coming from my shed, it's my poor Pano & Torana, sooking that i'm not getting enough work done on them!

Cheers

Bloody hell, no way. I really don't like the rear of the EF/EL. The boxcar to me is better looking, and it is lighter too.

However, there are quite a number of parts in the EB that are starting to look dated, and as I like those bits in the EF/EL, they have made their way into the into the EB.

Exactly, now I have a very unique EB, instead of a plain jane EF/EL.

And it hasn't cost me very much at all so far and what costs there are have been incremental.

I have also learnt a whole heap in the process, and enjoyed myself immensely.

Cheers

Yes, it was a bit odd driving like that. Had fun.

Cheers nicco, I have said many times, that if you wait, watch and learn, the right parts come up in due time.

I find that the EF/EL and the Momo versions are too bulky. With my car, I get to add a bit personality with the steering wheel. Can't do that in a real EF/EL due to the airbags.

Yes, the seats are sooooo comfortable. On a long trip they are great, and when having fun in the twisty bits, really hold you in the seat. Now I am quite a big chap and most sports seats are too narrow, but these are just right for me.

I have the factory one in there. The EAs and EB1s had a different style, but the EB2 onwards to EL should all be the same. I have a spare one I will be painting soon.

LOL, I think you will need two donor cars to get all the bits.

Re the dash:

I found that I had two different colours. I had parts from two different ELs and one had the dark grey, and the other the light grey. So my cowl vent cover was darker than the dash, and my door trim tops were dark as wel..

Thankfully my good buddy Paulmac (thanks mate) let me swap the dark bits for the matching light grey parts from the same car the dash came out of. So soon will all one colour.

Cheers
BenJ
