Hey guys just wondering where the best place to put my Sony Amplifier - 4 Channel, XMN1004 in my 05 BF Wagon as l dont know too much about this sorta stuff just wondering where the best place would be for it to sit and be unnoticeable (rather not have it behind the rears) is it possible to replace the oem amp (Should there be one?) with it or am i best to stick under the passenger seat which seems to be the way even though id like to possibly have a slim sub under the fronts any thoughts or help would be highly appreciated thanks

ps i know i probably sound super dumb about this stuff and that would be correct as ive never done anything like this in any of my cars sorry if its a straight forward answer cheers :)

I doubt it would have a factory AMP unless its a Fairmont or Ghia model.
If it has a factory sub then yes, there will be an AMP somewhere.

I had similar issues when I decked out my sons AU wagon with new audio.
I found the best place for the sub box & AMP was behind left rear seat. Small marine AMP mounted vertically on the side of the sub box so it sat against the rear of the seat (hidden).
This also made for easy access to the AMP for fine tuning, just flip down the seat.

The sub itself faced inwards, caged front to protect the speaker & simply draped an old towel over the whole box so as to conceal it from outside.
Sub box was secured to the floor (from inside the box) using one of the bolts for the cargo barrier.
All the wiring to the rear was fed up the side of the centre console then fed under the carpet, under the rear seat, to the luggage area.
This requires a small hole to be cut into the carpet to feed wiring, use a long metal hooked rod to catch the wiring & feed it under the carpet.
(the stainless metal shims in an old wiper blade are ideal for feeding/catching wiring)

Also, be sure to use a proper wiring kit if hooking up a big AMP. 8 gauge wiring kit, fuse ect.

So rather than help this guy, you pick on what I wrote.

This is why I've grown to hate forums.
A post could be up for 6 months without a single comment, but as soon as I try to be helpful someone else jumps on what I've written.

There are AMPs on the market small enough to fit in a glovebox, console or any small cavity.
But by all means keep scratching your heads & making pointless posts.
