hey guys

ive got my dash out as i was spraying it and want to to fix the blend door while im at it. ive got a replacement but cant get the sucker out?? its too tight to get a screwdriver in or anything?? how can u remove the box its on ???

any help would be great

u remove that box and you'll need to regas the car! we just used a chisel to bash the rivets out and self tappered it in

pretty sure you can get the BDM out without removing the heaterbox.

and the BDM unscrews from the metal bracket which is riveted in

yep,

You can remove + install the BDM complete with bracket without removing the heaterbox. I've done 6 of them and high series cars a more painful as the sound deadner is more dense and thicker above the BDM.

use a chisel or a long drill bit to remove the rivets.

Ok, so I understand/see how you can chisel off the rivets from the side while it is still in the car, but how do you attach it to the receiving car?

Use some M8 bolts with nyloc nuts.
bolt in up top, hand with nut and small spanner inside flap on the right.
and bobs your aunty

all i did which was a pain in the a** but wored well was get a pair of long nose pliers and unscrewed the 4 screws holding it to the metal bracket. took and hour but hey its done


now im stilll getting that erorr though is there something else i need to do?

Is your dash in, or just pulled forward ??(you can connect everything with the dash 30cms or so forward).
The only thing I'd suggest if you put the dash back, is to check the dash unit is plugged in correctly, and you can hear the BDM run when you do a self test. Can you hear it run ??
